A survival suite is meant to provide everything necessary for sustaining life. Each suite comes stocked with at least a year's supply of food and supplies. Each suite has a bathroom with a shower, cooking and storage facilities, access to water, bunk(s), and living quarters. The basic facilities are decidedly plain but appropriate to sustaining life in the environment.
The suite complex includes sewer, water facilities, common buildings and hookups for electricity and communications. The common facilities exist to provide a quality community environment. Buildings that can be used for schools, craft centres, offices and religious purposes.
Each community is setup to be able to live "off the grid", self-sufficiently for several years. With the attached farmland and livestock life can be supported for a long time.
The buildings are suitable to supporting life in the environment where it is constructed. They are built in the most appropriate manner using materials and techniques to make them inhabitable throughout the year.
The farming collective is responsible for managing the land for the benefit of the owners. The food produced is used to keep food stockpiles fresh. Some of the food is sold to help cover costs. The goal of the operation is to supply all the food required to stockpile the reserves. Any surplus food is sold or traded to cover the operating costs and maintenance fees. This operation is meant to be sustainable even through several years of drought or poor crops and reserves will be kept to ensure this.
The amount of land held should be more than sufficient to meet the dietary needs of the individuals intended to stay in the suites. As a general guideline 5 acres per person should be enough to provide enough variety and surplus of food to both stockpile and provide enough surplus to cover the maintenance fees on the living structures.
The farming practices are mean to be sustainable, organic, non-GMO, beneficial to the local populations, and not entirely dependant on mechanization. Food produced is preserved and stored to meet the number of years required. Stockpiles are rotated through and sold off to offset the farming and preservation costs. This ensures a relatively fresh stockpile of food in the case of an emergency.
Livestock is kept to provide milk, eggs, and meat where appropriate.
Survival suites are designed to provide a safe place haven for you and your family in the case of crisis making your current area unliveable.
